Question 1

Where do the fuel prices on this page come from?

Accepted Answer

From Monitorul Prețurilor, the platform run by the Romanian Competition Council, where partner petrol station networks upload their prices. For each city we take the reported stations, with the diesel, petrol 95 and LPG price and the time each station reported it.

Question 2

How often are the prices updated?

Accepted Answer

We read the prices of the 41 cities every morning, and a city page requests them again from Monitorul Prețurilor when you open it, if the last reading is more than two hours old. The table on this page shows each city's last reading, with its date and time.

Question 3

Where can I find the cheapest diesel today?

Accepted Answer

Under “Lowest prices today” you see the city and network with the lowest price among the cities updated in the last 24 hours. On each city page, stations are sorted from the lowest price, with a map link.

Question 4

Why do prices differ between stations in the same city?

Accepted Answer

Each network sets its prices station by station, based on costs, location and local competition. Each city page shows the lowest and highest price and what the difference means for a 50-litre fill-up.

Question 5

How much VAT do I pay on a litre of fuel?

Accepted Answer

The pump price includes 21% VAT, calculated on a price that already contains the excise duty. To find the VAT in a price, multiply the price by 21 and divide by 121: at 10.92 lei per litre, the VAT is 1.90 lei and the price without VAT 9.02 lei.

The general rule in art. 298 of the Romanian Fiscal Code: 50% of the VAT for cars not used exclusively for business and 100% for cars used exclusively for business, with the use proven by trip sheets. The deductibility calculator shows the amount for your case.

Question 7

How do I record fill-ups for the trip sheet?

Accepted Answer

In FoiParcursAuto.ro you scan or enter the receipts and the app adds them to the monthly trip sheet together with the kilometres and standard consumption. The dashboard also shows today's prices in your cities.
